Why are there more WIKIPEDIA articles about television programs and actors than about books and authors?

Wikipedia is like an open forum.It gives "anyone" the opportunity to add to the articles.Ever since the internet began,libraries are not as popular in books as once were.Most libraries in my area cut way back in operations due to lack of book borrowing.The general librarian even mentioned in a news interview that she's even noticed the book borrowing had dropped excessively & the cut on operating hours had NOTHING to do with the economy.
