If I am writing fiction does everything have to be realistic or can I add a twist?

You can just have fun with it. It's your story, and it's fiction so you can do whatever you want. If it's fiction you don't have to worry about changing some details, as long as your not ripping anybody off. Do what you want with it, and have a good time writing your story :)
