Are chicken slices in this condition safe to eat?

I bought some wafer thin chicken slices which are packaged i an airtight plastic container. I forgot to put them in the fridge the night I bought them and its been about 36 hours. Ive put them in the fridge now, and as they were in an airtight container will they be safe to eat? I presume not but please help by giving your second opinion.
